Cation Exchange Resin is a synthetic polymeric resin designed to remove positively charged ions (cations) from water and aqueous solutions through ion-exchange processes. It is widely used in water softening, demineralization, deionization, boiler-feed water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment and water purification systems. Cation resins can exchange ions such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron and other dissolved cations, depending on the resin type and operating conditions. They are typically supplied as small spherical polymer beads and are available in strong-acid and weak-acid varieties for different treatment requirements.
