Lactic Acid is an organic acid widely used as an acidulant, pH regulator, preservative aid, chelating agent and formulation ingredient across food, cosmetic and industrial applications. In personal-care formulations, it is commonly used for pH adjustment, skin conditioning and gentle exfoliation, while in food processing it serves as an acidulant and acidity regulator. Lactic acid is also used in detergents, cleaning products, pharmaceuticals, textiles and various industrial processes. It is typically supplied as a clear to slightly yellow liquid in aqueous solution.
