LABSA (Linear Alkylbenzene Sulphonic Acid) is a high-performance anionic surfactant widely used as the primary active cleaning ingredient in detergent and household-cleaning formulations. It provides excellent detergency, wetting, emulsification and foaming properties, making it suitable for liquid detergents, laundry powders, dishwashing liquids, liquid soaps, industrial cleaners and other cleaning products. LABSA is commonly supplied as a viscous brown to dark amber liquid and is typically neutralized with an alkali such as sodium hydroxide to produce Linear Alkylbenzene Sulphonate (LAS), the active surfactant salt.
