Salicylic Acid (BHA — Beta Hydroxy Acid) is a white crystalline organic acid widely used as a keratolytic and exfoliating ingredient in skincare and personal-care formulations. As a BHA, it is oil-soluble and helps penetrate into pores to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum, making it particularly suitable for acne-care products, facial cleansers, exfoliating creams, toners, shampoos and scalp treatments. It is also used in pharmaceutical and industrial applications. Chemical formula: C₇H₆O₃; CAS: 69-72-7; INCI: Salicylic Acid. Cosmetic use should comply with applicable regulatory requirements for concentration and product type.
