Methanol (Methyl Alcohol) is a clear, colourless, volatile and highly flammable liquid with a characteristic alcohol odour. It is widely used as an industrial solvent, chemical intermediate and processing agent in the manufacture of formaldehyde, paints and coatings, adhesives, fuels, solvents and other chemical products. It is also used in certain industrial cleaning and laboratory applications where appropriate. Chemical formula: CH₃OH; CAS: 67-56-1; Molecular weight: 32.04 g/mol.
