Technical Description & Product Overview

Chlorine 65%, commonly supplied as calcium hypochlorite, is a high-strength chlorinating and oxidizing agent containing approximately 65% available chlorine. It is widely used for water disinfection and sanitation, including drinking-water treatment, swimming pools, wastewater treatment and industrial water systems. It is also used as a bleaching and disinfecting agent in selected industrial applications. Calcium hypochlorite is typically supplied as a white powder or granular solid that releases active chlorine when dissolved in water. Due to its strong oxidizing and corrosive properties, it should be stored separately from incompatible materials and handled strictly according to the product SDS.
